ACSCU-AI Accreditors alongside CPU staff and personnel gather for a commemorative photo op following the conclusion of the opening event.
Central Philippine University (CPU), in collaboration with the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center (QAAC), hosted the opening ceremony for the ACSCU ACI Resurvey Visit for the Junior High School on February 3, 2026. Held at the Henry Luce Library Conference Room from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the event marked the start of a three-day evaluation aimed at securing Level 3 accreditation—the highest possible rank—from the Association of Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities-Accrediting Council, Inc. (ASCU-ACI).
The ceremony welcomed a dedicated team of accreditors: Ms. Angeline Tan and Ms. Maria Bella G. Abad of Hope Christian High School, Dr. Steve Christopher S. Wong of Philippine Chen Kuang High School, and Ms. Maricel V. Coo of Adventist Academy Bacolod. CPU was represented by University President Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy and the five university Vice Presidents: Dr. Aries Roda D. Romallosa (Research, Development & Extension), Engr. Dany C. Molin (Administration), Dr. Merle L. Junsay (Academic Affairs), Dr. Esther Rose Romarate (Student Affairs), and Dr. Florence P. Bogacia (Finance and Enterprise).
The program began with a prayer led by Junior High School Principal Charlett B. Dianala, followed by a formal welcome address from Dr. Dagohoy and the introduction of the university administration and staff. Ms. Angeline Tan, serving as the chairperson of the accreditors, provided welcome remarks and an overview of the accreditation process before she and her colleagues introduced themselves. The session concluded with a group photo and a prayer for lunch, which was catered for all attendees.
The resurvey process, running from February 3 to February 6, is a comprehensive audit involving document reviews, facility inspections, and class monitoring. Accreditors also conduct interviews with faculty, students, and the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) to gain a holistic view of the school’s operations. Although the on-site survey concludes with a ceremony on February 6, the finalized results and accreditation level will be released in approximately one month.
