Laboratory coordinators and technicians during the ISO Orientation on March 26, 2024.
On March 26, 2024, the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center, in coordination with the Review and Continuing Education and Consultation Center (RCECC), conducted a one-day orientation program for laboratory coordinators and technicians. Held at the Conference Room of the Henry Luce III Library, the activity focused on making participants familiar with the different ISO forms of the university and the different documents that their respective units need to prepare and include in their operations manual.
Dr. Mary O’ Penetrante, faculty member of the College of Business and Accountancy, gave a talk on formulating SMART functional objectives. In the afternoon, Dr. Dimpna Castigador, Director of the Office for Institutional Advancement, talked on risk and opportunities assessment. A workshop was conducted after each topic, such that participants were able to walk through the process of accomplishing the different ISO forms and receive comments and suggestions from the speakers on how to further enhance their formulation of objectives and identification of risks and opportunities.
This orientation activity is part of the QAAC’s objective and responsibility of ensuring that the different units within the university are compliant with ISO standards and procedures.
