In collaboration with the Iloilo City Fire Station, the Special Needs Education Society (SNED) of Central Philippine University, led by its fourth-year interns, successfully conducted a fire drill on January 22, 2026. The activity was organized specifically for special needs students, with the aim of promoting safety awareness and preparedness in an inclusive learning environment. Teachers and learners actively participated in the drill, ensuring that emergency procedures were clearly demonstrated and properly understood.

The fire drill emphasized inclusive safety measures tailored to the unique needs of special education learners. Through guided instructions and hands-on assistance, students practiced calm and orderly evacuation, while teachers were oriented on appropriate emergency response strategies. The collaboration with the Iloilo City Fire Station ensured that all procedures adhered to standard safety protocols while remaining sensitive to the needs of both students and educators.

Speaking on behalf of the fourth-year SNED interns, the group shared, “In compliance with safety requirements, the Iloilo City Fire Station facilitated a fire drill at Iloilo Kidsnook Integrated School. These quarterly drills are essential in maintaining the emergency readiness of our faculty and students. We commend everyone for their serious participation and commitment to safety.” The initiative reflects SNED’s continued commitment to fostering a secure, inclusive, and well-prepared school community.
