Central Philippine University (CPU), through its Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center, recognized outstanding units and academic programs for their exceptional performance during the 2023-2024 academic year. The Pagdayaw 2024 Quality Awards were presented during the Faculty and Staff Conference held on August 28, 2024, at the Rose Memorial Auditorium.

Dr. Anna May A. Yap-Zerrudo, Director of the Quality Assurance Center, and Associate Director Prof. Sharlene Gotico announced the establishment of the Pagdayaw Awards as a new tradition to celebrate excellence in both academic and non-academic areas. Four categories were included: CPU Seal of Good Housekeeping, Special Citation for Quality International Initiatives, Program Quality Award, and Model Program Quality Award.

CPU Seal of Good Housekeeping Award

This award acknowledges units that have demonstrated full compliance with the university’s quality standards and procedures, with zero non-conformities or opportunities for improvement during the internal audit for AY 2023-2024. The awardee for this category is:

  1. School of Graduate Studies

Special Citation for Quality Internationalization Initiatives

Recognizing exceptional commitment to global engagement and student mobility, this award honors colleges and units that organized and facilitated the highest number of outbound student mobility activities. The awardees, determined by the Local and International Linkages and Affiliations Center (LILAC), are:

  1. College of Education
  • SEATeacher Project – Active involvement in providing practicum opportunities for pre-service student teachers in Southeast Asia.
  • Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP) – Participation in student exchange programs, sending interns to partner universities in Indonesia and Vietnam.
  1. College of Engineering
  • Sakura Science Program – A mutually beneficial exchange with Japan’s NIT-Sasebo College, funded by the Government of Japan.
  1. College of Hospitality Management
  • Revised SIAP Program – Pioneering efforts in sending interns to Japan, with a focus on Japanese language and cultural immersion.

Program Quality Award

This award is granted to academic programs that have successfully undergone accreditation during AY 2023-2024. The following programs received this recognition:

Model Program Quality Award

The most distinguished honor, the Model Program Quality Award, is presented to academic programs that have achieved Level 4 accreditation, the highest possible level. This award celebrates programs that exemplify excellence in education, showcasing best practices and outstanding outcomes. The awardees received a check worth Php 20,000 from the University. The recipients are:
