PackUp, one of the promising startups incubated under the CPUGAD Technology Business Incubator (CPUGAD TBI) of Central Philippine University (CPU), proudly represented the university and the region as it secured a spot among the Top 5 finalists at the Startup Live Pitching Competition of GrowthCon PH 2025. The event was held on June 10, 2025, at the Samsung Hall, SM Aura, and organized by The Business Manual of One Mega Group.

GrowthCon PH 2025 gathered over 500 industry leaders, startup enablers, and innovators under the theme “Powering Up the Startup Ecosystem Through AI.” The Startup Live Pitching Competition showcased breakthrough ideas from across the country, with PackUp emerging as a standout finalist.

Co-founders Matt Rafael Genito (BS Packaging Engineering) and Jed Matthew Mamosto (BS Software Engineering) took the stage to pitch Himo by PackUp—an AI-powered packaging partner designed to help Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) overcome packaging and branding challenges. Their pitch highlighted how artificial intelligence can bridge gaps in design, branding, and execution for businesses striving to compete in the digital age.

Founders of PackUp, PackUp, one of the promising startups incubated under the CPUGAD Technology Business Incubator (CPUGAD TBI), proudly hold their Certificate of Commitment.

CPU stood out as the only university finalist from outside Metro Manila, joining the ranks of startups representing top institutions such as the University of the Philippines – Diliman, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, Mapúa University, and the Asian Institute of Management.

This recognition puts a spotlight on CPU’s pioneering role in integrating innovation and entrepreneurship in academic programs. Notably, PackUp draws strength from CPU’s flagship BS Packaging Engineering and BS Software Engineering programs—both firsts in the country—which are now producing changemakers for industries that need both creative and technological expertise.

PackUp’s success at GrowthCon PH 2025 reflects the mission of CPUGAD TBI to support startups that create sustainable, tech-driven solutions. As the first DOST-supported TBI from a private university in Western Visayas, CPUGAD TBI continues to serve as a vital launchpad for ventures like PackUp that champion innovation with impact.

With this milestone, the CPU community celebrates a proud moment for Centralians and a major step forward for the Iloilo startup ecosystem. Fueled by purpose and innovation, PackUp’s journey continues—empowering MSMEs one smart package at a time.
