Iloilo City Councilor Rudolf Jefrey Ganzon was the speaker for the third lecture of LAYE.

The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs held the third lecture for “Laye: A webinar series on Philippine Statutory and Regulatory Laws” on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, via CPU TV Channel Facebook live. The speaker for the said lecture is Iloilo City Councilor Hon. Rudolf Jefrey Ganzon.

The webinar touched on Republic Act No. 11036 or the Mental Health Act of 2017.

Ganzon discussed the salient points of the said law as well as the mental health programs of the City Government of Iloilo. He also focused on the importance of mental health in every community and household. After the lecture, Ganzon answered questions from students and other attendees.

RA 11036 is the first mental health act legislation in the history of the Philippines. It was officially signed into law and was enacted as the Republic Act no. 11036 on June 21, 2018. It provides a rights-based mental health bill and a comprehensive framework for the implementation of optimal mental healthcare in the Philippines.

Through the webinar series, the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs aims to enlighten the Centralian community especially students about some recent laws of the Philippines.
