Another win for CPU for producing globally competitive athletes. Levee Marie Oliva of Central Philippine University secured a slot for the South East Asian Table Tennis Association Junior and Cadet Championship that will take place in Thailand on June 16 until June 22, 2022.

The team travelled to Manila to try their best for the national selection for the members of Junior National Team for the upcoming Southeast Asian TTA (SEATTA). They managed to advance to top 16 and one Golden Lioness grabbed the 3rd spot for the team.

Oliva’s game in her match with Keya Manada of Tangub City, Zamboanga reached its fifth and deciding set. Manada won the first set with the score 11-9, Oliva won the second and third with the scores 11-6 and 11-8. The fourth set however resulted to a 10-all tie and favored Manada with 16-14 score. The senior high school student from CPU ended the final set triumphantly with a score of 11-7.

Members of the team were Byeen Gomez, Shana Marie Remaneses, John Romel Baria, Alain Vincent Dominguez, Jero Ceasar Ascanao, Brent Remaneses, and Ashton Remaneses.

They were fully supported by their coaches Atty. Ryan Castro, Atty. Abet Reyes, Cyrus Tolentino and Simplicio “Jun” Gayoso.
