The Office of Student Development and Programs conducted a virtual awarding ceremony for university student organizations with the theme “CPU Student Organizations: Beacons of Hope and Light amid the pandemic” on May 5, 2021.
In lieu of the student exhibit, the organizations were judged by the portfolios they submitted.
The opening prayer and devotional were led by Communications Director Rev. Francis Neil G. Jalando-on.
During the devotional, Rev. Jalando-on emphasized that in becoming beacons of hope and light, we should remember the CPU Badge. He said that the 12 rays of the badge represent the 12 disciples and we should be like the disciples, the light amidst the darkness in the world.

Office of Student Development and Programs Director Dr. Margen A. Java announced the result of the evaluation. Out of 58 recognized student organizations, 7 won special awards. The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants- CPU Chapter bagged most of the awards winning four namely Most Outstanding Student Organization, Outstanding Organization- Academic Category, Best in Interview, and Best in Self- Evaluation.
Dr. Esther Rose A. Romarate, Vice- President for Student Affairs congratulated all the student organizations in her closing remarks.
“You have risen above the seemingly insurmountable challenges that this COVID-19 pandemic has brought into our midst. You have discovered new ways of pursuing your goals and doing your activities and your advocacies. And you have survived, in fact, we can very well say that many of you have thrived” said Dr. Romarate.
