CPU alumni and friends in California come together for a memorable evening of camaraderie and connection with CPU President, Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, strengthening ties and celebrating the Centralian spirit.
Elk Grove, CA – Central Philippine University (CPU) alumni and friends gathered for a special Meet-and-Greet with Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, CPU President, on April 1, 2025 (Tuesday), at 5044 Brabant Court, Elk Grove, CA. The event provided an opportunity for CPU alumni and friends in California to reconnect, network, and engage in meaningful conversations about the university’s future.
An Evening of Camaraderie and Connection
The evening commenced at 5:00 PM, as CPU alumni and friends arrived, taking advantage of the networking opportunity to catch up and meet fellow Centralians.
Dr. Dagohoy led the Opening Prayer, setting a reflective and warm tone for the gathering.
Following the prayer, this writer delivered the Welcome Remarks providing an introduction to the event and an overview of the evening’s program. This writer highlighted the importance of strengthening ties between CPU and its alumni, emphasizing the role of such gatherings in fostering continued engagement.
Message from the CPU President
A key part of the evening was the introduction of attendees culminating in the formal introduction of Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, CPU President.
Dr. Dagohoy then took the stage at to share an inspiring message about the current state of Central Philippine University. He provided insights into the university’s progress, ongoing developments, and plans for the future, particularly in enhancing alumni engagement and support. His remarks resonated with attendees, reinforcing the strong bond between the university and its global alumni network.
Dinner and Socials
After the president’s address, guests enjoyed a delightful dinner engaging in meaningful conversations and reminiscing about their time at CPU.
At 7:00 PM, the Socials segment encouraged further networking, allowing attendees to exchange stories, experiences, and ideas on how they could continue contributing to CPU’s growth. The sense of community and shared passion for their alma mater made this part of the evening especially memorable.
A Heartfelt Closing
As the event drew to a close, attendees gathered at 8:00 PM to sing “Central My Central”, the beloved CPU hymn. The night continued with extended singing and camaraderie, lasting until 10:00 PM, as alumni and friends cherished their time together, strengthening their connection to CPU and each other.
