Malacanang turned over its donation of laptops to CPU security guards on Tuesday, October 22, 2020. The donation of the laptops was initiated by Presidential Management Staff Asst. Secretary Joseph Encabo.

The turnover of donations was facilitated by Presidential Management Staff Region VI Head Mrs. Ruby Plagata, CPU President Dr. Teodoro Robles. Mrs. Plagata explained that the laptops were previously used during the ASEAN summit, and the government through the PMS is giving them to poor students.

“We are happy that through the assistance of Asst. Secretary Joseph Encabo, the children of our security guards will be able to use the donated laptops for their online classes,” Dr. Robles said in his remarks.

“We would like to extend our greatest thanks and appreciation to the PMS and the Office of the President for facilitating the distribution of laptops to our guards. The laptop will really help in the education of their children,” said Security Safety and Discipline Office Chief Mr. Jonathan Tumalay.

The ceremony ended with a thanksgiving prayer by Rev. Francis Neil G. Jalando-on, Director, CPU Office of Communications.

The children of the 10 guards, who were chosen as recipients, will be using the laptops for their online classes.
