The Central Philippine University Senior High School (CPUSHS) Student Council, in partnership with the Henry Luce III Library, held a Book Literacy Outreach at Culasi National High School in Ajuy, Iloilo on December 13, 2025. The program aimed to foster a culture of reading and improve literacy by introducing students to specialized library resources and services.
“Magandang BOOKas!” is a Book Literacy Outreach program designed by CPUSHS and the Henry Luce Library to equip young learners with knowledge about book care and the various library tools available to support academic learning. The outreach featured a comprehensive program that included book donations, lectures on proper book care, and an orientation on the modern facilities offered by the Henry Luce III Library.
During the event, students of Culasi National High School learned responsible stewardship of printed materials and were introduced to both digital and physical resources that can enhance their academic journey.
Through this initiative, CPUSHS and the Henry Luce III Library successfully bridged the gap between a major university and a local high school, fostering not only book literacy but also information literacy. In an age where navigating information is key to success, teaching young students how to utilize library services empowers them to become lifelong learners.
“Magandang BOOKas!” is more than just a one-day event; it represents a step toward ensuring that every student, regardless of location, has access to the resources necessary to build a brighter and more informed future.
