What is LNVW:
It is a virtual walkathon challenge with the mission to walk the 16,000 mile Great Trails of Canada with CPU alumni, friends, and family from May 10, 2021-May 10, 2022. The event will be scheduled for 1 year. And will be reviewed in 3 months particularly on August 10, 2021. The length of the challenge is determined by the completion of 16,000 miles.
How:
By participating in an actual physical activity like walking, jogging, or running and using the treadmill. Reflective journaling is another component of this event. A monthly checkpoint will be published. This is a personal perspective on the topic for each month. It will depend on the participant if he or she will share his/ her thoughts or keep it personal. The discovery activity is your own account of places visited along the great trails. The link is posted on Meriam Amy’s Facebook account. Descriptions, pictures, highlights, and historical facts of Provinces and Territories across Canada. You may also email meriamamy@outlook.com for any further inquiries.
Why:
The pandemic has greatly altered our lifestyle. Gatherings, travel, and face-to-face interaction have been on hold for the last 2 years. Virtual challenges like this keep everyone connected in a meaningful way to visit and discover together in a journey towards wholeness. The walkathon aims to raise funds for a worthy cause on approved projects of CPU. Our goal is to raise the same amount corresponding to the total miles of the great trail.
