All roads led to the coronation of this year’s CPU Alumni King and Queen on Saturday evening, September 28, 2019 at the Royal Garden Hall Convention Center in Iloilo City. The Alumni Night highlighted the fabulous pageant of the CPU Alumni Association.
The program started at 7PM. Four pairs from the Senior High School, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, and the College of Nursing competed for the 2019 King and Queen titles.
The opening program started with an invocation led by Rev. Dr. Harold T. Peñacerrada, President, CPUAA Palawan Chapter. Dr. Vita B. Gasataya, a CPUAAI Trustee, led in the singing of the Alma Mater Song. Atty. Joshua C. Alim, CPUAAI Vice President, welcomed the alumni and thanked everyone for their attendance at the homecoming.
The Manunudlo Dance Company entertained the crowd as dinner was served. Raffle tickets were drawn with premium prizes before the Chairman of the 2019 CPUAAI NOMELEC, Atty. Jeremy Bionat read the Election Results.
The much-awaited result of the search and coronation of the King and Queen with their court started, just as the alumni and visitors have taken their fill of the sumptuous dinner. And the winners are:
2019 Alumni King: College of Nursing – Mr. Kim Laraza (BSN 2010) – Staff Nurse at Iloilo Mission Hospital
2019 Alumni Queen: College of Nursing – Ms. Gigie Supeña (BSN 1993) – Head Nurse at Iloilo Mission Hospital Department B
1st Runner Up: College of Education – Prof. Edgar Eriman (BSEd 1992) – Principal, CPU Senior High School, and Ms. Ging Oñate (BSEd-HE 1970)
2nd Runner Up: Junior High School – Dr. Alexander Delgado and Dr. Diadem Equiña – CPUHS Class 1979
3rd Runner Up: College of Arts and Sciences – Atty. Immanuel Sodusta and Mrs. Angeles Sodusta – AB Pol Sci 1984
Rev. Francis Neil G. Jalando-on, CPUAAI Corporate Secretary, led the Closing Prayer and Benediction. The program was hosted by Ms. Carmelle Frances M. Romero, Administrative Officer, CPU Office of the President.
