CPU SHS celebrates Literary Day, showcasing the artistic talent and academic rigor that define HUMSS students.

The Central Philippine University Senior High School (CPUSHS) Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand successfully held its collaborative project “Literary Day” on March 9, 2026, at the SHS Audio-Visual Room (AVR) and SHS Library, showcasing the intersection of academic rigor and artistic talent.

Under the supervision of Ms. Abigail Vilches, Assistant Principal of CPU SHS, the event served as the culminating performance task for students enrolled in the Creative Nonfiction subject. It was divided into two major components: a theatrical production and a curated literary gallery. The AVR hosted the musical performance of Into the Woods, while the SHS Library featured an exhibit of selected literary works authored by HUMSS students.

The theatrical production was spearheaded by Student Director Andrea Delariman and Assistant Director Aills Tejam, supported by a proficient technical and creative team. The cast included Erll Christian Infante as the Baker, Kris Monick Bayog as the Baker’s Wife, and Dana Parejo as the Witch. The production’s artistic and logistical framework was enhanced by choreographer Julliene Anne Magdalene Galve, a technical direction team composed of Apollo Vargas, Rainier Dimzon, and Dan Michael Buscar, and the meticulously crafted costume and production designs by Lea Schlüschen and Reese Partisala.

CPU SHS highlights creativity on Literary Day, expressing artistic talent through words and other creative works.

Beyond the stage, the literary exhibit highlighted the students’ mastery of Creative Nonfiction, showcasing their ability to blend factual reporting with narrative storytelling—a core competency of the HUMSS strand.

In addition to fulfilling the HUMSS curriculum requirements, the event reinforced CPU’s commitment to producing well-rounded graduates adept at balancing analytical reasoning with creative expression.
