The spirit of innovation, collaboration, and community empowerment was on full display at the I Create SDG Organizations and Fraternities Project Pitching 2025, held last April 26 at the CPUGAD TBI Coworking Space. This annual event, now a proud tradition of the CPU Republic since the 17th Parliament. 13 passionate organizations and fraternities, each advocating for their selected Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and showcasing impactful projects for their communities.

An esteemed panel of judges: Iana Frances V. Gatpatan, Director for Community Impact at JCI Regatta; Engr. Gelvie C. Lagos, Project Leader of CPUGAD TBI; and C-Sar Mart P. Aguirre, Vice President of the CPU Republic provided valuable insights and selected the most promising initiatives of the event.

“As the Minister for Organizations and Fraternities, I am honored to continue this initiative, promoting participative governance that fosters collaboration,” expressed the Minister during the program. “It has been nothing short of extraordinary. It was filled with bold ideas, creative solutions, and passionate voices, all echoing a shared commitment: to create change, to make a difference, and to turn vision into action.” – Fred Henrieck Casañare

The highlight of the event was the announcement of this year’s winning pitch:

The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers Central Philippine University – Student Chapter (PICE CPU-SC) emerged victorious with their innovative outreach project addressing the urgent water crisis in the Aeta community of Brgy. San Nicolas, Buenavista, Guimaras.

Their proposed solution the V-Filtro is a device designed to be attached to the community’s water supply system, effectively filtering and purifying water to provide safe and clean drinking water. The V-Filtro is not only sustainable but also low-maintenance and cost-effective, making it a highly practical intervention for the Indigenous Aeta community’s specific needs.

The project reflects PICE CPU-SC’s strong commitment to community development, demonstrating how technical expertise can be harnessed for social good.

The event closed with a strong message of encouragement: “We look forward to seeing our winners take the next steps and bring their proposed projects to life—turning their ideas into meaningful, lasting IMPACT. Together, let’s turn these pitches into progress, and these dreams into reality.”

The I Create SDG Organizations and Fraternities Project Pitching 2025 is more than just a competition it is a movement, inspiring the next generation of changemakers to dream boldly, act courageously, and lead with purpose.
