On May 28, 2025, the Energy Knowledge Empowerment in Western Visayas (EKEW) grant, under the USAID Energy Secure Philippines (ESP), held a meaningful inauguration and dedication ceremony for the Hybrid Wind-Solar System at Danao-Danao Primary School, Sitio Danao-Danao, Brgy. Polopiña, Concepcion, Iloilo.
This initiative marked a significant milestone in promoting sustainable sources of energy and community development in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) and strengthening partnerships among stakeholders, highlighting the utilization of renewable energy sources in these areas. Furthermore, the event exemplified the transformative power of clean energy in enhancing the quality of life and improving educational outcomes in communities.
At this event, key speakers from partner institutions, local government units, and faculty and staff from Central Philippine University highlighted the significance of the project, emphasizing collaboration, innovation, and the importance of renewable energy sources in rural development and the local economy.
In this project, an estimated 90 beneficiaries, including students, teachers, and non-teaching personnel of Danao-Danao Primary School, will be supported.
