Faculty Members from the different colleges and departments in the collegiate level attended the seminar conducted by the CPU HRDO.
The Human Resource Development Office spearheaded a Seminar-Workshop which centered on Creating Classroom Tests and the Table of Specifications. The said seminar was held last March 19, 2024 at the Educational Media Center Conference room and was attended by 134 Faculty Members from the different colleges and departments in the collegiate level.
The seminar started with an Opening Prayer by Prof. Rea Angelica F. Villeza, Chairperson of the Department of Religion and Ethics. An introduction was given by Dr. Rodel C. Palomar, HR Director and then followed by the Welcome Remarks by Dr. Irving Domingo L. Rio, Vice-President for Academic Affairs.
Dr. Merle L. Junsay, Dean of the College of Education was tapped as the Resource Speaker and facilitated the whole day discussion and workshop. During the workshop, attendees were grouped according to their departments and colleges and were asked to make tests and create the Table of Specifications. It was an interactive and engaging presentation where all openly gave suggestions and comments. At the end of the day, a cash award was given to the best presenter; the Department of Chemical Engineering came out as winner in Creating Classroom Tests while the College of Nursing bested the others in Creating the Table of Specifications.
Members of the faculty expressed their gratitude for a very productive Seminar-Workshop with comments like, “I’m grateful to the HRDO for identifying strategies to help teachers provide more effective assessment to the students” and “This seminar has retooled, enriched, and motivated more my teacher self. Thank you HRD and Dr. Junsay! God bless CPU as we apply our learnings!” The day ended with a closing prayer by Rev. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian, Senior Pastor of the University Church.
