A dazzling stream of lights attracts the attention of commuters and passers-by along Lopez Jaena St. in Jaro Iloilo City. The CPU Administration Building is covered with impressive golden lights, as well as the main gate and fence, overwhelmingly attracting the consistent crowd watching the spectacular event at CPU every year.

The annual Festival of Lights at Central may have decreased the volume of lights installation in the campus, but the artistic array of Christmas decors by people in the creative committee has eventually started to have the ‘FOL’ get better and better every year.

Three important government officials realistically admired the annual CPU Festival of Lights. Congresswoman Julienne ‘Jam-jam’ L. Baronda (Lone District, Iloilo) said that, “The Festival of Lights at Central has been a tradition, and a tourist attraction.”

Hon. Jerry P. Treñas, Iloilo City Mayor acknowledged that “CPU’s Festival of Lights is one of the most anticipated events in Iloilo – for its spectacular show of lights; levelling up on our Christmas experience.” In his message, Iloilo City Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon said, “This event reminds us of the son of God, Jesus. Ganzon considers the spectacular show of lights in CPU as a gift from God.

The three local government officials sent their messages on virtual platforms – played during the FOL program at the University Church.
