Dr. Evangelica Diesto Padernilla is the former Principal of the CPU Elementary School.

Ms. Donna Framo Demasiado, a former faculty member of the CPU Elementary School honored her former principal through the establishment of the DR. EVANGELICA DIESTO-PADERNILLA GRANT-IN-AID program for the College of Education.

Because of Demasiado’s firm belief in the important role that teachers play in the lives of students as demonstrated by Dr. Padernilla, Ms. Demasiado decided to establish a living legacy to be imminent in the lives of the recipients of this grant-in-aid.

Dr. Padernilla, an alumna of the College of Education, was very passionate about her career as an educator.

Five slots of the grant-in-aid will be available per school year for the next three school years, from School Year 2021-2022 until School Year 2023 – 2024.

This grant-in-aid is open to all incoming fourth-year College of Education students who have academic promise and financial needs. They should either be work students or members of any Baptist church.

The following criteria will be used for the selection of the recipients: Scholarship – 40.0%; Economic need – 40.0%; and, Character – 20.0%, a total of 100.0%.

The grant is four thousand pesos (P4,000.00)  per semester or a total of eight thousand pesos  (P8,000.00) for the whole school year. It could be used to pay off the miscellaneous fees of the recipient as well as can be used for the load allowance during this pandemic (P2,000.00 to pay off miscellaneous fees and another P2,000.00 for load allowance per semester).

The Student Development and Programs Office will take charge of screening the applicants.
