CPU-COEd, established as a separate college in 1940 due to the rapid growth of enrollment, has consistently strived for quality education. It was recognized as a Center of Development in Teacher Education by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in 2016, a testament to its outstanding programs and accomplishments. The college offers five degree programs, three of which hold prestigious accreditation statuses: Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) and Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) are Level IV accredited, while Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSNEd) is Level II accredited under ACSCU-ACI, valid until December 2028. The other programs include Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd) and Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd). Specializations under the BSED program include English, Mathematics, Science, and Filipino, equipping students with diverse opportunities to excel.

Throughout the years, CPU-COED has achieved consistent success in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), producing topnotchers year after year. Beyond national recognition, the college has embraced internationalization through its robust internship and exchange programs. Beginning in 2017, students have participated in CHED’s Student Internship Abroad Program, with batches sent to Vietnam and Indonesia. In 2018, the college joined the SEA-Teacher Project under SEAMEO, enabling pre-service teacher exchanges across Southeast Asia. Recently, CPU-COEd partnered with Petra Christian University, Tra Vinh University, and Universitas Kristen Indonesia for faculty and student exchange programs, further enhancing the global competencies of its graduates.

The college also champions research and community outreach. A notable achievement is the CHED-funded multi-million research project during the pandemic, which trained teachers across Panay Island in flexible learning strategies. CPU-COED’s outreach initiatives, such as “The Saturday Reading Classes” in Greg Secker Foundation Village, align with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, promoting quality education and impacting young learners even during challenging times.
