“The College of Computer Studies has a tradition of academic distinction and innovation in computers and information technology education,” shared Prof. Ma. Christina A. Quijano, Dean of CPU College of Computer Studies. Established as part of the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) in 1995, the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) quickly gained popularity, leading to its transfer to the College of Engineering in 2001. The formal establishment of CCS in 2003 marked a significant milestone. In response to the growing demand for IT professionals, the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program was introduced. In 2014, the college launched the Bachelor of Digital Media and Interactive Arts (BDMIA), catering to students interested in the convergence of technology and art. In 2018, the CCS achieved FAAP Level 2 accreditation for its BSCS and BSIT programs, as evaluated by the PAASCU Accrediting Agency, showcasing its commitment to academic excellence. Expanding its multidisciplinary approach, the college also introduced the Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS).
