Members of the English Elites Organization conduct reading and literacy activities during their Second Semester Outreach Program held on February 9, 2026, promoting comprehension skills, values formation, and a love for reading among students.

On February 9, 2026, the English Elites Organization (EEO) successfully conducted its Second Semester Outreach Program, reinforcing its commitment to promoting literacy and nurturing a love for reading among students. The initiative focused on enhancing reading, listening, and comprehension skills while instilling positive values through interactive and meaningful learning activities.

To create a welcoming and engaging environment, the outreach program paired reading sessions with light refreshments, allowing students to choose drinks such as Energen, Milo, juice, water, or milk. Prior to the event, EEO organized a one-week book drive that garnered generous support from the Provincial Student Council, SNED Society, English Language Society, and Reform. The organization expressed its gratitude to these groups for their active participation and valuable book donations, which greatly contributed to the program’s success.

The program formally opened with a storytelling activity followed by a guided reflection, enabling students to develop listening skills while drawing moral lessons from the story. This was followed by a guided reading session in which participants selected books based on their interests and were grouped with facilitators. The facilitators employed pre-reading, while-reading, and post-reading strategies to ensure comprehension and encourage critical thinking.

Concluding the outreach program was a Spelling Bee activity featuring easy, medium, and difficult rounds. Students were guided on proper spelling and pronunciation, with opportunities to re-spell words until mastery was achieved. Through these activities, the English Elites Organization successfully fostered literacy, collaboration, and meaningful learning, leaving a positive and lasting impact on the students involved.
