Engr. Caesar Rico S. Acanto, Chair of the Electrical Engineering Department, graced the event by conducting lecture about the implementation of Demand Side Management techniques.

In a bid to foster a culture of energy efficiency and conservation, the Office of the Vice President for Administration (OVPA) hosted a thought-provoking lecture on Demand Side Management (DSM) from 9-11 AM this Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Knowledge Development Center (KDC).

The program commenced with an invocation led by Mrs. Vergie Lyn L. Bertuso, Supervisor of the Swimming Pool, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem. Engr. Dany C. Molina, Vice President for Administration, extended a warm welcome to attendees, emphasizing the importance of energy conservation in today’s world.

Mr. Prim C. Vergara III, Occupational Safety and Health Officer introduced the guest speaker, who discussed the vital importance of energy efficiency in reducing negative environmental impacts.

The focal point of the lecture, conducted by Engr. Caesar Rico S. Acanto, Chair of the Electrical Engineering Department, focused about the implementation of Demand Side Management techniques.

Engr. Acanto explained the significance of proactive measures such as load management, energy-efficient appliances, and renewable energy integration to curb waste and promote sustainability. The lecture delved into strategies for building a sustainable future through prudent electricity usage.

Among the distinguished attendees were supervisors and staff members under the Office of Vice President for Administration of Central Philippine University, including Engr. Dany C. Molina, Vice President for Administration. Their presence underscored the administration’s commitment to championing energy conservation initiatives within the organization.

The session concluded with an engaging open forum, allowing participants to exchange ideas and seek clarification on various energy conservation methods. Mr. Jonathan S. Tumalay, Supervisor of Campus Traffic, Security, and Safety, offered a closing prayer, encapsulating the spirit of unity and purpose in the pursuit of energy efficiency.

The lecture exemplified OVPA’s commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability, setting a benchmark for institutions to emulate in creating a greener, more sustainable future through responsible energy usage.
