CSS Officers preparing their free ice cream treat after Midterm examinations.
Last March 17, 2026, the Computer Science Society (CSS) Officers offered their student body free ice cream treats in celebration for completing the Midterm Examinations in spite of the rising heat index in the city.
CSS Officers set up their free ice cream station at the Mary Thomas (MT) Building where Computer Science students can easily find them and get a sweet treat before they go about the rest of their day. The flavors they offered were Cookies & Cream, and Rocky Road, the perfect flavors to relieve the stress of the Midterms. It was not long before students flocked to MT to get a scoop of frozen sweetness, even CCS faculty and staff came to get a free treat. Someone even brought a rice cooker pot to get filled with ice cream!
It was a fun and destressing afternoon that the students deserve. With everything that’s happening currently, it is important to have these small moments of joy and celebration. An afternoon to calm down and momentarily forget their struggles with a sweet, iced treat. This will be a moment to remember by the members and officers of CSS.
This initiative was planned and sponsored by the CSS officers themselves, promising their roles as public servants to the students of their department. It is always important support and share acts of kindness to one another, especially to help combat the rising heat index. This small station for an afternoon is a reminder for every one of the good and cheerful times life has to offer.
