The Central Philippine University Republic continued its commitment to student welfare as it launched Project SENTRO for the Final Examinations last November 19–21 and 24–25, 2025, at the Alumni Promenade Concert Park (APCP). The project once again transformed the iconic university landmark into a supportive academic hub designed to help students prepare for their final examinations following the busy post-semester activities.
Final exam season is widely recognized as one of the most demanding periods in the academic calendar. Students balance multiple comprehensive requirements, back-to-back written exams, and heightened expectations—all of which can impact their physical and mental well-being. Understanding these challenges, the CPU Republic reintroduced Project SENTRO as a practical and accessible support system, providing students with a conducive environment to study, rest, and recharge.
During the five-day initiative, the APCP was converted into a comfortable and student-friendly study space. Designated areas were set up for both individual study and group collaboration, giving students the flexibility to focus on their lessons or review with peers. Mobile charging stations ensured uninterrupted productivity, while free refreshments—such as coffee and candies—offered a small but meaningful boost during long hours of revision.
Project SENTRO operated daily from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., giving students ample time to access the space before, between, and after their study sessions. Throughout the week, many utilized the venue to form review groups, exchange notes, and prepare collaboratively, while others chose the quiet corners of the APCP for focused, independent studying.
The initiative was spearheaded by Senator Ma. Theresa P. Magbanua, Minister for Organizations and Fraternities, in coordination with the CPU Republic. The project reaffirmed the Republic’s commitment to creating responsive, student-centered programs that support academic success while promoting holistic well-being.
The continued success of Project SENTRO highlights the importance of student-led initiatives that extend beyond policies and governance. By addressing the real and immediate needs of the student body, the CPU Republic demonstrates its dedication to shaping a supportive, empowered, and proactive Centralian community.
