Last November 30, 2025, CPUR Senator Sam Isaac Alog, a 1st year Nursing student, was elected as the first executive director of the Iloilo City Next Generation Leaders’ Alliance.

In an interview with Senator Alog, he described the founding of ICNGLA as a necessary next step to further connectivity and to bridge student councils and student organizations; to empower Ilonggo youth leaders through “strategic collaboration and holistic development initiatives, for sustainable leadership.”

Senator Alog recounted the founding of the organization as a grassroots effort, this includes multiple student councils and multiple student organizations from the different universities in Iloilo such as: The University of San Agustin, St Paul’s University, West Visayas State University, Iloilo Doctor’s College, University of Iloilo, John B. Lacson Maritime University, Western Institute of Technology, St. Therese MTC Colleges, and various other organizations.

Senator Alog, when asked for his expectations, said the following: “I hope that this initiative becomes a foundation for the development of accountable, transparent, and competent youth leaders that will be the future of this nation.”

When further asked for his future plans and responsibilities as Executive Director, he said, “It basically boils down to three things, interschool collaboration initiative or ICOIN, Let Leaders Lead, and Project Wholesome.” “These projects are aimed at collaboration, sustainability, and holistic development just as we envision for the organization and for Iloilo as a whole.”

Senator Alog is grateful for this momentous success. “I sincerely thank the CPU Republic, BYLI, my friends, family, and everyone that has supported me in one way or another. To God be the glory!”
