The Central Philippine University-Kindergarten Department held its Christ Emphasis Week on October 24-25, 2024, via Zoom teleconference. With this year’s theme, “QUENCHED,” the convocation centered on scriptures from John 7:38 and Isaiah 58:11 (Cf Psalm 107:9, John 4:13-14).
Initially planned as an in-person gathering, the CEW was adapted to a virtual format to ensure the safety of students and families. On its first day, the virtual convocation began with an opening prayer led by Catriona Arid Lim. It was then followed by the reading of the scriptures by Darra Eighleen Ardales, Zeah Baylon, Joachim Matheo Gonzales, and Yedam Shin. On the following day, October 25, the opening prayer was led by Sydney Alexandria Anatan, followed by the scripture reading of Luey Fabia and Ragnar Ronel Sorbito.
“Even though face-to-face classes were paused, the message of the Living Water continues to flow just as strongly, bringing hope and renewal,” the CPU Kindergarten wrote on their official Facebook page.
The highlight of the 2-day convocation was the thoughtful messages delivered by the guest speaker, Ptr. Neva Ruth P. Pendon. The department led by Professor Praise E. Glory, MEd, CPUK Principal, expressed their special gratitude for the resilience of the parents and their unwavering support of the convocation.
“To our dear parents, I would like to sincerely thank you for your steadfast support of CPU Kindergarten. Despite the challenges we faced today with power interruptions and internet outages, your perseverance was truly remarkable. Many of you repeatedly rejoined the Zoom meeting, demonstrating your commitment to ensuring the convocation was completed. Even those who couldn’t attend due to the outages made sure to stay in contact with their advisers, showing that you were fully engaged. It was a humbling experience, and I am grateful to be working alongside parents who show such resilience and serve as admirable examples for their children,” Prof. Glory emphasized.
The CPU Kindergarten community found themselves with a deeper appreciation for their faith and the bonds they share, showing that the light of learning and love continues to shine brightly, no matter the circumstances.
