CPUGAD TBI proudly showcases four innovative AI-powered startups ArticuLit, Baylo Central, Dappli, and Himo by PackUp at AI Fest 2025, highlighting Central Philippine University’s commitment to responsible and impactful technology.
Central Philippine University’s CPUGAD Technology Business Incubator (CPUGAD TBI) made a strong mark at the 2025 Artificial Intelligence (AI) Fest, held from August 11–13 at the Iloilo Convention Center. The event, organized by the Department of Science and Technology Region VI in partnership with PCCI-Iloilo, RASUC Region VI, UMWAD Western Visayas, ISATU, WVSU, and the Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Association of the Philippines, gathered innovators, industry leaders, and AI enthusiasts under the theme “Coding a Better Future: Responsible AI for Cities and Communities.”
Representing the university’s commitment to nurturing innovation, CPUGAD TBI proudly showcased four homegrown AI-powered startups: ArticuLit, a smart storytelling platform redefining how we learn reading, writing, speaking, and listening; Baylo Central, an AI-enhanced digital marketplace offering intelligent recommendations for buyers and sellers; Dappli, a personalized AI recipe app ensuring safe and delicious Filipino meals; and Himo by PackUp, an AI-driven design assistant that helps MSMEs create standout product packaging.
The AI Exhibit, opened with a ceremonial ribbon cutting, provided visitors a first-hand look at how local entrepreneurs are harnessing AI to solve real-world problems. CPUGAD TBI’s booth drew crowds eager to explore the booth, engage with startup teams, and see how ideas incubated in Central are taking flight in the national tech scene.
On Day 2, the spotlight turned to the Lightning Talks, where startup founders took the stage to share their journeys, breakthroughs, and visions for AI-powered solutions. CEO Basil Jermanos Amso of ArticuLit captivated the audience with the platform’s potential to transform education; Jeff Andre Millan of Baylo Central highlighted the ease and efficiency of AI-assisted commerce; Jesse Jot P. Auman of Dappli spoke about promoting safe, flavorful local cooking; and Jed Matthew P. Mamosto of Himo by PackUp demonstrated how AI can revolutionize product branding for small businesses.
Throughout the event, CPUGAD TBI underscored that innovation must go hand in hand with responsibility. Beyond showcasing technical capabilities, the startups and their mentors highlighted the importance of the ethical use of AI, ensuring that technology is developed and applied in ways that protect privacy, promote inclusivity, and uphold community values.
From the exhibit floor to the conference stage, CPUGAD TBI’s participation reflected its mission of “nesting ideas and incubating success.” By providing startups with a supportive environment, access to mentorship, and opportunities for exposure, the incubator continues to transform bold concepts into impactful ventures.
CPUGAD TBI is grateful for the opportunity to showcase its Centralian innovators at such a prestigious event. Events like AI Fest help bridge the gap between creativity and application, ensuring that AI becomes a force for inclusive growth in Western Visayas and beyond.
As the curtains closed on AI Fest 2025, one thing was clear—CPUGAD TBI and its startups are not just keeping pace with technological change; they are helping shape it. With AI as their tool, ethics as their guide, and innovation as their compass, these ventures are proving that the future is not only bright—it’s AI-mazing.
