From the nest of ideas to the spotlight of innovation Central Philippine University – CPU CPUGAD TBI startups are proving that incubating success leads to real-world impact.
Innovation and collaboration took center stage at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu during the Visayas TECH PLANTER 2025, hosted by Leave a Nest Philippines. Three startups from CPUGAD TBI: Kuray Innovations, PharmaPack by PackUp, and Dappli, stood out as they shared bold solutions to pressing global challenges.
The event was composed of two major segments: Tech Plan Demo Day and Lightning Pitches, both designed to test not only the ingenuity of the startups but also their ability to respond to real-world questions from scientists, corporate leaders, and government partners.
Kuray Innovations joined the Tech Plan Demo Day, presenting its reef restoration initiative under the Zero-Waste Frontiers category. With a strong case for addressing Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 14: Life Below Water and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, the team earned the Quest Ventures Award, a Special Partner recognition that provides avenues for mentorship, business development, and merchandising support.

PharmaPack presented its accessible pharmaceutical packaging for the elderly and visually impaired, advancing SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. Dappli, on the other hand, introduced its smart meal-planning app aimed at reducing food waste while offering healthier and more diverse diets, supporting SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
In addition to these segments, the startups also took part in an exhibit where they presented their innovations and directly engaged with audiences, answering questions and sharing insights about their journeys and solutions.
Far from being just a competition, Visayas TECH PLANTER 2025 served as a platform for connection and collaboration. Through dialogue and feedback, the participating startups gained valuable insights to refine their innovations and expand their impact.
