The DOST–CPU CPUGAD Technology Business Incubator (CPUGAD TBI) proudly served as one of the co-organizers of the Student Innovators Summit 2025: Empowering Students in Energy and Climate Innovation, held last September 18–19, 2025 at ISAT University, La Paz, Iloilo City.

Empowering Students in Energy and Climate Innovation

The two-day summit, organized in partnership with New Energy Nexus and the UMWAD Western Visayas Consortium, gathered student innovators to explore clean energy solutions and climate resilience. The event formed part of the Western Visayas Innovative Startup Fest 2025, a regional celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship.

CPU Student Startup Showcases E-Banca

One of the highlights of the summit was the participation of RE-AL Energy Innovations from CPU College of Engineering, who pitched their solution E-Banca, a sustainable innovation designed to empower fisherfolk through technology and support resilient livelihoods.

The team members included:

  • Jan Lynnard S. Rolando – CEO
  • Kaiser John P. Calasara – CTO
  • Kleio Alfric S. Tobias – COO and Faculty Mentor
  • Rhaylen Kea C. Sitoy – CFO

The group successfully completed EE100: Introduction to Energy Entrepreneurship, an online course by New Energy Nexus that equipped them with insights on renewable energy, energy policies, and the Philippine energy landscape.

Nest Circle Volunteers and Mentorship

The success of the Student Innovators Summit was also supported by the Nest Circle, CPUGAD TBI’s community of mentors and volunteers dedicated to strengthening the region’s innovation ecosystem.

CPUGAD TBI expresses its gratitude to volunteers Izza Mikhaela Inguillo (Kuray Innovations), Jian Redd Pador(ArticuLit), Lyndon Coronado (Baylo Central), Prime Nicolli Acdol (LECA), and Sophia Alonday (PackUp), whose dedication ensured a smooth and supportive environment for student innovators throughout the summit.

Their efforts reflect Nest Circle’s core values of inclusivity, collaboration, and guidance—proving that innovation thrives in communities that uplift and empower changemakers.
