Attendees from California, Texas, Illinois, Kentucky, and Virginia gather for the 35th reunion of CPUBSN Batch 1990 in Houston, Texas.

Members of the Central Philippine University Bachelor of Science in Nursing (CPUBSN) Batch 1990 gathered for their 35th reunion at the residence of Eugene dela Cruz in Houston, Texas, from November 7 to 9, 2025. A total of 26 batchmates attended from as far as California, Texas, Illinois, Kentucky, and Virginia, joined by other family members who also took part in the celebration.

The reunion, planned in just two months, was considered a success despite the short preparation time. The celebration began on the first night with a welcome dinner and fellowship.

Alda Joy Mirasol-Ashu said, “It was one of the best days of my life. Will cherish guid. Hoping hindi mag uli-anon,” while Myrl Escuban added, “I loved all the fun we had. I still have the hangover. Can’t wait for the next one. It’s priceless, meaningful, and worth a repeat.”

The second day featured a visit to NASA’s Space Center Houston, followed by a Texas barbecue lunch. In the evening, the batchmates spent their time at Post-Houston, enjoying the skyline views of downtown Houston.

Noeme Panaguiton-Fernandez shared, “The last night was something special, reconnect, rewind and hoping for all the best till next time.”

On the third day, the morning was dedicated to a time of church and worship, regardless of religious affiliation. Lunch was spent with their former clinical instructor, Mrs. Melba Acanto, who celebrated her 87th birthday. Later in the afternoon, the group continued sightseeing around Houston, visiting The Waterwall, Rice University Campus, and The Texas Medical Center.

Reflecting on the reunion, Jonjie Baniel said, “I wish that weekend never ended.”

The reunion was a fitting celebration of friendship, memories, and the enduring Central Spirit that continues to unite CPU batchmates across the globe. The next planned reunion is set for London, United Kingdom, in 2027.
