CPU Alumni Work Students of varied age groups attended the Homecoming 2023.

The CPU Work Students Alumni Association (CPUWSAAI) celebrated a joyful Homecoming 2023, showcasing remarkable enthusiasm and cooperation among its organizers and members. The event, held on December 18, 2023, at the Conference Room, CPU Educational Media Center, brought together alumni from various batches and locations, including notable figures such as Dr. Teodoro C. Robles, former President of Central Philippine University, and Engr. Ed Cañuto, Member of the CPU Board of Trustees and owner of Ephrata Farms.

This year’s theme, “Magkilit-anay Kita Sini nga Paskua!” (Let’s bond this Christmas!), received positive feedback for its well-executed program and warm hospitality. Attendees not only received commemorative ID’s, mugs, and magnets but also cherished the opportunity to reconnect with old friends, classmates, and colleagues.

The festivities commenced at 7:30 AM with fellowship songs, followed by a devotional led by Rev. Francis Neil G. Jalando-on, Director of the CPU Office of Communications. Dr. Alberto A. Java, President of CPUWSAAI, and CPUAAI President Atty. Jeremy V. Bionat, extended their warm welcome to the attendees.

Engr. Ed Cañuto introduced the Guest Speaker, CPU President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy. In his inspirational message, Dr. Dagohoy reflected on the birth of Jesus Christ, drawing parallels to the story of Mary and Joseph, the wise men from the East, and the shepherds. He urged everyone to embrace the essence of accepting Christ into their hearts, emphasizing that the true happiness of the celebration lies in recognizing Jesus Christ.

The ‘Sharing Time’ by work student alumni provided a delightful blend of memories, laughter, and reflections on experiences, challenges, and the determination that led to their success. Certificates of Appreciation were bestowed upon past association officers and graduating work students received well-deserved recognition from Dr. Java, Atty. Bionat, and Miss Ruth G. Fernandez.

Amidst lively conversations during lunch, raffle draws added an extra layer of excitement to the festivities, ensuring that everyone left with a prize. Mrs. Joy S. Laos, Board of Director, CPUWSAAI, delivered closing remarks, followed by the singing of “Blest Be the Ties that Bind.” The program concluded with a closing prayer led by Mr. Ricardo B. Fernandez, another Board of Director of CPUWSAAI.

Gratitude was extended to everyone who took the time to attend CPUWSAAI, and praises were offered for the successful Homecoming 2023.
