Last September 8-9, 2021, the Librarians Licensure Examination was administered in Iloilo City and other testing centers in the country. Despite the many circumstances that tried to hinder the carrying out of this test, 113 out of 237 successfully passed the exams.

The passing percentage of first-time takers of the university is 60% or 3 out of 5 takers. Meanwhile, the overall performance of CPU is 50% or 4 passers out of 8 takers. The national passing percentage is 47.7%.
The practice of librarianship in the Philippines is regulated by the Professional Regulation Commission as mandated by law in Republic Act 9246, or The Philippine Librarianship Act of 2003.
