Central Philippine University (CPU) has reclaimed the Rank 1 spot in the 2025 Western Visayas University Website Ranking, after holding the second-place position for the past two years. Nationally, CPU ranked 31st in the Country Rank and 6,645th in the World Rank, based on the latest Webometrics ranking of higher education institutions worldwide.

According to uniRank, the 2025 University Ranking features 18 higher education institutions in Western Visayas that meet specific selection criteria. These include being chartered, licensed, or accredited by the appropriate higher education-related organization in the Philippines; offering at least three-year bachelor’s degrees or postgraduate master’s or doctoral programs; and delivering courses primarily in a traditional, non-distance learning format. Additionally, uniRank aims to provide a non-academic League Table of the top Western Visayas Universities based on valid, unbiased and non-influenceable web metrics provided by independent web intelligence sources rather than data submitted by the universities.

In the 2025 Western Visayas ranking, Central Philippine University (Iloilo City) leads the list of top-performing universities in the region, followed by the University of the Philippines in the Visayas – Iloilo City (ranked 32nd), West Visayas State University – Iloilo City (60th), University of St. La Salle – Bacolod City (68th), and John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University – Iloilo City (78th).
