CPU Tumandok Dance Company graces the 19th Annual International Christmas Program and Holiday Music Exchange

The Central Philippine University Tumandok Dance Company members captured in a moment as they showcased their performance on December 16, 2024, during the 19th Annual International Christmas Program and Holiday Music Exchange.

On December 16, 2024, the Central Philippine University Tumandok Dance Company graced the virtual stage of the 19th Annual International Christmas Program and Holiday Music Exchange.

The prestigious event, which celebrates diversity through music and dance, brought together artists and cultural groups from schools around the world. Participants included Misuzu Academy and Mikanodai Primary School of Japan; Keskuskole Elementary School and Linnankoski High School of Finland; Penabur Kindergarten School of Sukabumi, Indonesia; Saint-Alphonse School of Quebec, Canada; Gaza State Children’s Home of Mozambique; Central Philippine University Tumandok Dance Company of the Philippines; Earlsdon School of England; and Hawaii High School from the State of Hawaii.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity to share the beauty of Filipino culture with the world,” said Prof. Randy Lero, the artistic director of the CPU Tumandok Dance Company. “We are proud to be part of an event that fosters unity and brings people from different backgrounds together.”

Tumandok Dance Company, renowned for its dedication to preserving and promoting indigenous Filipino dance and music, presented a stunning fusion of traditional and contemporary choreography.

“This is more than just a dance performance; it’s an opportunity for us to showcase the resilience and vibrancy of Filipino culture. This is what the holiday season is all about—creating connections through art and celebrating our shared humanity,” Prof. Lero added.

The annual Christmas program and holiday music exchange was organized by Prof. Umeda of Kawachinagano City in Osaka, Japan. The success of the CPU Dance Company’s performance at the event was supervised by Prof. Randy Lero, Artistic Director, and Ms. Crista Huyong, Director of the CPU Cultural Affairs Office.
