CPU students presented the Philippines and CPU wearing their Barong and Filipiñiana.
Four students from Central Philippine University recently undertook a ten-day language learning and cultural immersion program at the National Taipei University of Education (NTUE) in Taipei. The initiative builds upon CPU’s virtual participation in NTUE’s language and culture program in 2021.
From December 27, 2023, to January 5, 2024, the selected students experienced the vibrant culture of Taiwan. The participating students were Kairos Rye Jalando-on (BA Communication, Year 2), Ira Asjha Annika Ceralvo (Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science, Year 3), Jed Matthew Mamosto (Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Year 2), and Rafael Prudente III (Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Year 3). They were accompanied by fellow international students from Europe and various Asian countries. The comprehensive program included Mandarin language classes, cultural lessons, and guided tours of select locations.
This cross-cultural exchange provided an enriching experience for the participants, fostering a deeper understanding of Taiwanese language, customs, and traditions. The students’ engagement with their international peers further enhanced the program’s collaborative and inclusive nature. The NTUE Language and Culture Program continues to be a valuable opportunity for CPU students to broaden their horizons and embrace global perspectives.
This trip to NTUE was made possible through the efforts of Ms. Kay Gallo, Director of the CPU Local and International Linkages and Affiliations Center.
