On February 7, 2025, a courtesy call was done with CPU President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy together with nine promising student-teachers set to participate in the CHED-IAS and SEAMEO Student Exchange Programs in Indonesia and Vietnam at the CPU President’s Office.

Accompanied by the College of Education Dean, Dr. Merle L. Junsay; COED’s Student Exchange Mobility Coordinator, Mrs. Maristel D. Decio; and LILAC Acting Director, Prof. Lesley L. Dignadice, the nine future Centralian educators received President Dagohoy’s blessings and support for their upcoming international journey.

 “When you come back here in the Philippines, take your heart with you,” said CPU President, Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy during his courtesy call.

The participants include Fan Li Kien De Vera (4th Year BSED Major in Science), Andrian A. Ponce, and Rhizel Fate V. Siva (4th Year BSED Major in English), who will spend three months at Universitas Kristen Indonesia (UKI) in Jakarta under the CHED-IAS Student Exchange Program. They will be joined by Genie Lyn S. Entico (4th Year BSED Major in Science) and Heinz C. Solo (4th Year BSNED), who will participate for one month under the SEA Teachers Program of SEAMEO. Additionally, Shirnelie Bless D. Caro and Glorie Anne T. Gange (4th Year BSED Major in English) will head to Petra Christian University (PCU) in Surabaya, Indonesia, also through the CHED-IAS Student Exchange Program. Lastly, Melisa O. Derramas and Ivy Jane D. Ortega (4th Year BSED Major in English) will travel to Tra Vinh University in Tra Vinh, Vietnam, for three months under the same program.

This initiative reflects CPU’s long-standing commitment to international collaboration and student development. Over the years, CPU has sent numerous student-teachers to universities and academic institutions across Southeast Asia, providing them with opportunities to grow and make a difference globally.

The five student-teachers bound for UKI will depart on February 11, 2025, followed by the two heading to PCU on February 18, and the two destined for Tra Vinh University on February 21.
