Central Philippine University-Senior Plus Red Cross Youth Council (CPU-SPRCY) clinched third place in the Red Cross Youth (RCY) Month 2024 celebration on October 27, 2024, held at Iloilo Science and Technology University.

On October 27, 2024, the Central Philippine University-Senior Plus Red Cross Youth Council (CPU-SPRCY) won awards in the Red Cross Youth (RCY) Month 2024. The event, held at Iloilo Science and Technology University, attracted a total of 1,053 participants.

This year’s RCY Month focused on highlighting youth creativity, self-expression, and imagination through passion in theater, art, and musical plays. Among the 31 councils participating in the program, CPU-SPRCY emerges as the third placer for overall performance.

CPU-SPRCY President Ember Adrian C. Fariolan expressed pride in the team’s accomplishments, stating, “I want to thank everyone who makes our council what it is. We couldn’t achieve our goals without each member’s hard work and dedication. A special thanks to Miss Irene Harding, President of the Actors Guild, and Miss Keziah Lyn Mendoza, President of the De’ Octaves, for sharing their amazing talents in acting and singing. Their support means so much to us.” “In CPU-SPRCY, we always remind ourselves that one person’s success is a success for all of us. Together, we grow stronger and achieve more than we could alone.”

The team won 2nd place for “Encore: Live Musical,” performed by Sean Ethan Sotto, Niña Allyn Rose Amase, Jeffrey James Punzalan, Josh Kimler Evangelista, Patricia Isabelle Sarmen, Kim Elaijah Dela Roma, Charlotte Ashley Arban, Vernice Rayven Ruiz, Dhafney Gwyne Jamero Langilao, Patricia Hannah Deocampo, and Ma. Fedela Kadmiel Mejares. Additionally, Brent Oscar Regala, along with the CPU-SPRCY Media Team, clinched the Best Poster award.

“All of the hard work, talent, and dedication truly shone through. It was fantastic to see how De’s Octaves, the Actor’s Guild, and RCY came together to create such a memorable performance… Keep pursuing your passion with the same spirit and remember that every performance is a chance to grow and shine even brighter,” said Keziah Lyn Mendoza, President of the De’ Octaves.

The team also won 2nd place for “Artistic Runway: Tote Bag Painting & Designing Extravaganza” led by Kaitlyn Ayanna Laud and Alexa Tiffany Jaye.

Irene Harding, Actors Guild-President also extended her heartfelt gratitude to the whole team, saying, “To organize an event where students can showcase their skills and talents in art, acting, and singing is one of a kind. The CPU Actor’s Guild is happy to have joined Encore: Live Musical, along with the CPU – Senior Plus Red Cross Youth, and De’ Octaves. This was a great opportunity and experience that created a huge impact on our lives as students and as young dreamers.”

The acknowledgements that CPU-SPRCY received during RCY Month 2024 indicate their endless determination, initiative, and passion they have with community service.  The awards they have earned reflect CPU’s commitment to shaping future leaders dedicated to making a difference.
