Social Workers from CPU led by Prof. Kareen Jay D. Lozada (Social Work Dept.) in one of their engagements with the Ati Community in Brgy. Lanit, Jaro, Iloilo City.
In a recent collaboration, the CPU College of Arts and Sciences- Social Work Department met with the Community Engagement Service Learning Center (CESL) to outline and address the content and requirements for upcoming outreach initiatives. This meeting took place at the Ati ANM Center, Zone 3, Barangay Lanit, Jaro, Iloilo City, last year.
Several key points were deliberated and mutually agreed upon during the discussion, including Needs Assessment Analysis, Baseline and Preparations, Delegation of Tasks, Activities, and other relevant considerations. The consensus was reached to assign Field Workers the responsibility of conducting baseline studies and writing proposals. Additionally, they would handle the drafting and canvassing of materials, food packs, and other coordinating measures essential for successful outreach.
Team Leaders were tasked with establishing committees during the pre-outreach, outreach, and post-outreach phases. The baseline preparation phase was emphasized to include a targeted budget for each household and crowd control measures. The Program Committee, comprising roles such as host, materials coordinator, logistics manager, documentation specialist, and certificates coordinator, was formed to ensure a comprehensive approach.
Throughout the outreach, team members were organized into distinct teams (e.g., Team A, Team B), with each team leader responsible for delegating, monitoring, and preparing necessary conditions and activities for their respective assignments.
The success and adherence to standards were noted to be contingent upon the specific situation, total number of teams, and deployment strategies implemented during the outreach initiatives.
