On September 10, 2024, Central Philippine University (CPU) and the Philippine-American Educational Foundation (PAEF) Fulbright Philippines, commonly known as the Fulbright Commission in the Philippines — officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The signing ceremony took place at the American Corner, Henry Luce III Library, and was facilitated by the CPU Local and International Linkages and Affiliations Center.

The MoU, signed by CPU President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy and PAEF Fulbright Philippines Executive Director Mr. Julio Amador III, outlines a comprehensive plan to enhance academic collaboration, expand research opportunities, and foster student and faculty exchanges between the two institutions.

Established on March 23, 1948, Fulbright Philippines administers the Fulbright program and other educational exchange initiatives for Americans and Filipinos. According to their website, the Philippine-American Educational Foundation is the oldest continuing Fulbright Commission globally, overseeing the flagship U.S. foreign exchange scholarship program in the Philippines. Their mission is to enhance binational research collaboration, cultural understanding, and the exchange of ideas between the two countries.

This collaboration is anticipated to create new opportunities for CPU’s academic community, enabling participation in international research projects, and accessing a wider range of scholarly resources.
