CPU President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy at the DOST-PCIEERD Grand MOA Signing for 2024 approved projects.
On October 17, 2024, Central Philippine University, represented by its President, Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD), represented by its Executive Director, Dr. Enrico C. Paringit, for its 2024-approved project of establishing a university-based technology business incubator (TBI), the CPUGAD TBI.
This two-year project aims to assist faculty, staff, students, and the community in turning their ideas into viable businesses in order to strengthen the startup ecosystem in Western Visayas. Aligning with Iloilo City as UNESCO’s City of Gastronomy, CPUGAD TBI’s banner program is ICT for Sustainable and Creative Food Industry.
Also, at the DOST-PCIEERD Grand MOA Signing at the Sheraton Manila Hotel in Pasay City were representatives from other universities and companies with approved projects with the government agency. Dr. Dagohoy was accompanied by Engr. Gelvie Lagos, CPUGAD TBI Team Leader and Mr. Mark Gil Peraman, CPUGAD TBI Manager.
