Despite the gloomy weather, Central Philippine University Senior High School Department (CPU SHS) commenced its academic year 2024-2025 with a vibrant opening ceremony last July 22, 2024.
The day began with a flag ceremony led by the student council, setting a patriotic tone for the new school year. Mrs. Benjie Ne F. Gallinero, Principal, introduced the student council members and teachers from various subject departments. She also shared important reminders about the first week’s schedule and upcoming orientations. The ceremony concluded with Mrs. Gallinero offering a heartfelt prayer.
Vice Governor Wilson Paul Andion announced an exciting lineup of activities for the week, designed to engage and entertain the students. Highlights include the club fest, “The Hatch,” scheduled for July 24-26, 2024, on the first floor of the school building, and the “OTW: Byahe sa Central Road” general orientation at Rose Memorial Auditorium.
The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as Grade 11 and 12 students met with their classmates and advisers during the homeroom orientation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Throughout the day, new and returning students mingled with their peers, with many new students gathering at the help desk to address their queries. The school’s beloved mascot, “Hawkie,” was a popular figure, with students eagerly lining up to take pictures.
The opening day of CPU SHS for the academic year 2024-2025 was a resounding success, setting a positive tone for the months ahead.
