The CPU SHS Guidance Office invited all Grade 12 students to attend the Career Seminar at Rose Memorial Auditorium.

Combating job mismatch–The CPU Senior High School with the cooperation with the Guidance Services Center and Job Placement Office holds SHS Career Guidance Seminar with the theme: “Paving the Path of the Next Generation of Professionals on May 26, 2023 at the Rose Memorial Auditorium.

The program is composed of a series of talks to help the graduating senior high school students in choosing the courses that are suited for their careers in the future.

The first speaker Mr. Gabriel Umadhay, Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager, Iloilo City talked about “Soft Skills you Need to be Future-Ready” where he discussed PESO: its mandates, services and programs. He also talked about the different skills needed in work and the different types of jobs.

Ms. Rouella Cheyenne C. Abiera of the CPU Placement Office discussed the “Local Market Trends” where she talked about the most in demand jobs in Iloilo City and the Philippines, what were the key employment generators and emerging work positions.

Dr. Margen C. Java, Director for Student Development Programs, talked about the scholarship programs available in the university and the guidelines and benefits of attaining such programs.

The fourth speaker, Pastor Alfred C. Morales, Recruitment Officer of the university, gave a short talk on why students should choose CPU for their college education. This was followed by “My Student Life in CPU” wherein one student from each college talked about their life experiences as students of the university the speakers were:

The program ended with closing remarks delivered by Ms. Benjie Ne F. Galinero, OIC, Senior High School and a closing prayer delivered by Ms. Marisa C. Dy Buco, Guidance Associate, CMLS, Nursing and Pharmacy.
