In a vibrant celebration of student leadership, community involvement, and academic excellence, Central Philippine University Senior High School (CPU SHS) held its much-anticipated SHS Day 2025 at the Rose Memorial Auditorium on May 2, 2025.

The event opened with a patriotic and spirited rendition of the National Anthem and the CPU Hymn, led by Ms. Keziah Mendoza, President of De’ Octaves. Robby Marvin Arnillo followed with a heartfelt opening prayer, setting the tone for the day’s festivities. The program officially commenced with Aksyon Departamento, a dynamic session that introduced the SHS Student Council, the Central Philippine University Republic (CPUR), and the student prosecutors, including Prime Minister Crisfe P. Vergara, Deputy Prime Minister Jaylord F. Lampa, and Senator Princes Nemel Tolentino of the CPU SHS Debate Organization.

A Town Hall Meeting provided students with a platform for discourse and engagement, followed by an energetic intermission number from Hugyaw Lawin, one of Senior High School premier performance groups.

A major highlight of the program was the Awarding of Clubs and Organizations, where numerous student groups were recognized for their active participation, leadership, and service throughout the academic year. Certificates of Appreciation were presented to all officially recognized clubs, including the Actor’s Guild, Boys and Girls Brigade, Boy Scouts of the Philippines (Pugad Agila), De’ Octaves, Girl Scouts of the Philippines – Troop 23, Hugyaw Lawin, Media Arts, Peer Facilitators, Senior Plus Red Cross Youth, SHS Christian Fellowship, The Prosecutors, HawkSci, Literary Quills Society, and The Silver Lions.

Certificates were also awarded to the SHS Executive Committee Members for their outstanding service: Chairperson Chloe J. Lachica, Vice Chairperson Keziah Lyn Mendoza, Student Affairs Officer Sam Isaac Alog, Finance Resources Officer Lemniel Gift Gardose, Records Secretary Wrency Dawn Mallo, and Information and Press Officer Ember Adrian Fariolan.

Special category awards were presented to clubs that made significant strides in various aspects of student engagement and organizational excellence. For Community Engagement, the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) Troop 23 received the Bronze Award. In the Internal Activities category, Bronze Awards were given to De’ Octaves and GSP Troop 23, while the Peer Facilitators earned the Silver Award. In terms of Participation in School Events, Hugyaw Lawin, Media Arts, Senior Plus Red Cross Youth, and SHS Christian Fellowship were awarded Bronze; GSP Troop 23 received Silver; and De’ Octaves achieved the Gold Award. The Collaboration category recognized GSP Troop 23, Media Arts, and Senior Plus Red Cross Youth with Bronze Awards, and Boys and Girls Brigade, De’ Octaves, SHS Christian Fellowship, and The Prosecutors with Silver Awards. For Skill and Leadership Development, Bronze Awards went to Boys and Girls Brigade and The Prosecutors, while GSP Troop 23 was honored with the Gold Award.

In addition to the organizational awards, special individual honors were conferred to outstanding student leaders who exemplified dedication and excellence in their roles. Sean Franco was named Most Outstanding Vice President, Ember Adrian Fariolan received the Most Outstanding President award, and the Girl Scouts of the Philippines Troop 23 was recognized as the Most Outstanding Club.

The celebration continued with a soulful intermission performance by Centralian Idol First Runner-Up Elisha Caramel Vilva. This was followed by the SHS Merit Awards, honoring exemplary student-led groups such as Kawaning Lawin, Lawin Productions, and HAWKamay.

Further recognition was given to academic achievers and student services under the categories of ScholarHawks, Steeltawks, and Onlinebrary.

Adding a creative flair to the program, the SHS Sigrab Film Showing showcased student-produced films that reflect the creativity and expression of the CPU SHS community.

Capping off the event was the Awarding of Republic Strands, led by the SHS Student Council Advisers and Board Member Jerych Angelo Maralit. The major awards for outstanding strand performance were presented to the top-performing academic groups, with STEM Republic earning 2nd Runner-Up, HUMSS Republic securing 1st Runner-Up, and ABM Republic emerging as the overall Champion.

The program concluded with a celebratory photo opportunity, marking the success of CPU SHS Day 2025—a day filled with pride, recognition, and unity across the student body.
