Centralian Fest participants from CPU SHS receive recognition for their achievements.

Central Philippine University Senior High School (CPU SHS) held its annual Hawkies’ Day 2024 on June 6th at the Rose Memorial Auditorium, marking the culmination of a successful academic year for the “Steelhawks.”

The morning program kicked off with a Town Hall meeting featuring SHS Representative James Bernard Cabatbat’s final address. Cabatbat highlighted the accomplishments of the SHS Provincial Council throughout the second semester, detailing the implemented platforms and projects that served the student body.

Following the address, an “Aksyon Departamento” session provided a platform for open dialogue. Council members, CPU Republic representatives, and the SHS officer-in-charge addressed student questions and concerns.

Hawkies’ Day also celebrated student achievements. Awards were presented to those who represented the SHS unit in the Centralian Fest, a university-wide festival. Additionally, outstanding members of the “Kawaning Lawin” (council staff) were recognized for their dedication throughout the year.

The academic excellence theme continued with the awarding of the different republics within the SHS. STEM Republic emerged victorious, followed by HUMSS and ABM in second and third place, respectively. Bea Casimero (HUMSS) and Belle Delfin (ABM) were further recognized as the Republic Head and Deputy Head of the Year.

The afternoon session transformed the Rose Memorial Auditorium into a festive space. Each strand (STEM, ABM, HUMSS) set up interactive booths for students to enjoy. Laughter filled the air as students participated in activities like the STEM photo booth, the ABM marriage booth, and the HUMSS freedom walls.

The competitive spirit continued with the awarding of players from the “Palarong Panlawin: Ball Games” featuring basketball and volleyball matches.

Later, a “Larong Pinoy” segment offered a nostalgic dose of traditional Filipino games. Students engaged in Tug-of-War, Tumbang Preso, Sack Races, and Kadang-Kadang, rekindling fond childhood memories.

Hawkies’ Day 2024 concluded with a joyous foam party, a fitting capstone to a year of academic achievements, camaraderie, and Steelhawk pride.
