Congratulations to the Central Philippine University Research Ethics Review Board (CPU-RERB) for receiving Level 2 Accreditation from the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB) on August 15, 2025, during the virtual 18th PNHRS Week.

On August 15, 2025, the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB) held a virtual awarding ceremony as part of the 18th Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) Week. Livestreamed via the DOST-PCHRD Facebook page, the event highlighted the crucial role of ethical standards in advancing health research in the country.

Among the recognized institutions was the Central Philippine University (CPU) Research Ethics Review Board (RERB), which was awarded a Level 2 Accreditation – a testament to its unwavering commitment to upholding the rights and welfare of research participants while ensuring scientific rigor and integrity in research.

PNHRS Week is both a celebration of milestones and a call to action for stakeholders in health research. It fosters collaboration and innovation to address the country’s pressing health issues through ethical and evidence-based approaches.

Dr. Joy G. Raso, Chair of the CPU-RERB, expressed that the Level 2 accreditation is a significant achievement that strengthens the ethical review process at CPU. She emphasized that this recognition serves as a vital support mechanism for university researchers, empowering them to maintain the highest standards of research integrity and participant protection.

Dr. Raso also highlighted the board’s dedication to continuous training and capacity-building in order to effectively guide researchers and adapt to evolving ethical issues in both health and social research. This, she noted, that CPU remains at the forefront of ethical research producing meaningful, trustworthy, and community-centered health solutions.

She concluded by acknowledging that this milestone is a manifestation of God’s faithfulness. “Everything we do,” she affirmed, “we do for God’s greatest glory.”
