Athaganay 2024 equips student leaders with essential skills and knowledge for effective governance throughout the school year.
The annual mandatory leadership training seminar of CPU Republic, dubbed “Strengthened Athaganay 2024,” was successfully conducted last July 27 at the Educational Media Center and Lopez Hall Building with the theme “For a better and stronger kind of governance”.
The morning session kicked off with TED-inspired talks with Ingrid Vale Saquibal (Most Outstanding Graduate of 2022) for leadership, Hon. Sedfrey Cabaluna (City Councilor) for governance, and Hon. Adrian Camposagrado (SB Member) for service.
After which, the breakout rooms followed with different distinguished panels namely: Ms. Collyn Maxie Rose Moscoso (former CAS Vice Governor) for Room 1: UniGov/Parliamentary Procedures and IRP; Dr. Esther Rose Romarate (VP for Student Affairs) for Room 2: Student Grievance and Letter Writing; Dr. Florence Bogacia (VP for Finance and Enterprises) for Room 3: Pananagban/Budget Requests; Mr. Sarex Dipol, Jr. (CESL Acting Director) for Room 4: University Outreach Procedures; Mr. Kurt Carolino (Graphics Artist) for Room 5: Publication Material Lay outing and Social Media Management; Ms. Marie Faye Mondeja – Moleño (CEO, Faybe Weddings and Events) for Room 6: Project EMS/Events Management System.
The afternoon session featured Mabuhay Central/Personality Development Seminar with Prof. Dianne Hope Muyco Pilien, MBM, MMHM (CHM Faculty), a resolution writing workshop, and a Constitution Quiz Bee. It concluded with an orientation of relevant acts emphasizing the CPUR Ethical Standards and Accountability Act of 2022 with Mr. Daryl T. Lutero (Most Outstanding Senator, 17th Parliament and CPUR Adviser).
This year’s leadership training envisions student leaders with all the necessary tools to carry out their roles and responsibilities throughout the school year.
