Central Philippine University (CPU) was recognized as the top contributor to the Socioeconomic Research Portal for the Philippines (SERP-P) for 2024, earning the prestigious rank 1 spot. The recognition was awarded on December 5, 2024, during the SERP-P Network Annual Symposium and Meeting, held at Lime Resort Manila.
The event, themed “Research in Action: Transforming Research Dissemination in the Digital Age,” highlighted the importance of innovative research dissemination and collaboration among institutions. CPU’s consistent commitment to producing high-quality research publications led to its recognition. The plaque of recognition was received by Dr. Evelyn Grace Ayson, Director of the University Research Center, and Prof. Ma. Cynthia Peleña, Director of the Henry Luce III Library.

SERP-P, maintained by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), serves as a free online repository that aggregates publications from various research institutions in the Philippines. As the primary policy research agency of the Philippine government, PIDS lauded CPU for its significant contributions, which underscore the university’s role in advancing socioeconomic research.
The SERP-P Symposium also featured several presentations:

- Maximizing the Digital Space for Research Communication: Insights from EDCOM 2 presented by Mr. Luigi Conti, Communications and Advocacy Head of EDCOM 2
- SERP – P’s Accomplishments (2023) presented by Dr. Sonny Domingo, Officer -in-charge, Research Information Department.
CPU’s recognition reflects its dedication to producing impactful research that contributes to the country’s socioeconomic development. This achievement also emphasizes the university’s pivotal role in promoting research excellence and advancing knowledge dissemination in the digital age.
