Central Philippine University (CPU) earned two prestigious international recognitions during the Internationalization Champions of Nation-building and Sustainability (ICONS) Awards 2025, held on December 10, 2025, at the Jose Rizal Hall, Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City, Metro Manila. The event was attended by University President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy.

Organized annually by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the ICONS Awards celebrate Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) for their crucial role in championing the country’s higher education sector on the international stage. The awards also highlight high-impact initiatives in sustainability, ASEAN awareness, and internationalization, as well as recognize visionary leaders who turn these priorities into tangible achievements.

CPU was recognized for its ranking in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia Rankings 2026, placing within the 1201-1300 bracket, and for its inclusion in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025, where it ranked 1501+.

“This achievement is the result of a collective effort, made possible by the dedication, hard work, and unity of the entire Centralian community. All for the greater glory of God!” the University posted on its official Facebook page.

The awards reaffirm CPU’s commitment to academic excellence, global engagement, and sustainable development, strengthening its presence in international higher education rankings.
