Teachers and parents of Badiang Elementary School, together with volunteers from CPU, gathered with smiles and full hearts during the turnover of September feeding supplies.

Central Philippine University (CPU), through Project ETC under the Community Engagement and Service-Learning Center, once again extended its commitment of service and care to its adopted schools. On September 10, 2025, the CPU Project ETC Logistics Coordinator, together with faculty members from the Health and Physical Education Department of the CPU College of Education, delivered and turned over the month’s feeding supplies to three beneficiary schools: Iloilo River Plains Integrated School (IRPIS), Badiang Elementary School, and Tapikan Elementary School.

The delivery included carbohydrate-rich staples that will sustain the daily meals of all enrolled students in the three schools, regardless of their nutritional status. Teachers shared that since the implementation of the feeding program, they have observed notable changes among their pupils. Absenteeism has lessened, academic performance has improved, and students show better nutritional health.

Parents also play an important role in the success of the program. They take turns preparing, cooking, and serving meals to the children, ensuring that every student receives nourishment daily. This active participation strengthens the partnership between families and schools, fostering a sense of unity and shared responsibility.

From the hands of caring parents to the smiles of grateful children—Badiang ES shows how feeding becomes more than just food, but a true act of love.

Though the turnover of supplies happens only once a month, its impact is felt far beyond. Each sack of rice, each box of goods, and each meal served reflects CPU’s dedication to uplifting communities and supporting the well-being of learners.

Project ETC continues to serve as a symbol of CPU’s mission to go beyond academics, extending compassion, partnership, and faith to the communities it serves. More than food, the program delivers hope—nourishing both body and spirit and reminding all that true change happens when people work together.
